Privacy Policy
Overview
MyHabits is a habit tracker for iPhone. The app is designed to keep your habits, logs, goals, and settings on your device. We do not operate a user account system, and we do not store your habit history on Trinio servers for core tracking.
Information you provide
You can enter habit names, notes, schedules, completions, goals, and preferences. This information is stored locally on your device. If you email me, we receive your email address and the content of your message so we can reply.
iCloud sync
If you are signed into iCloud, MyHabits may sync your private habit data through Apple’s CloudKit private database associated with your Apple ID. That data is not stored on Trinio servers. Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy apply to that sync.
Notifications and widgets
Reminders are scheduled on your device. Widgets read a small snapshot stored in an App Group on the same device so Today can appear on the Home Screen. Widget data does not leave your devices unless you have iCloud sync enabled as above.
Optional cloud insights
Cloud insights are off unless you opt in. With your permission, the app may send anonymous, de-identified aggregates (counts, streak lengths, completion rates, and category identifiers — not habit names, notes, or device identifiers) to a relay we operate, which calls a paid Google Gemini API to rewrite those statistics into plain language. You can turn the feature off at any time. Declining keeps fully local use.
AI processors and retention
Cloud insight wording uses Google’s paid Gemini API via our relay. Under Google’s paid Gemini API terms, prompts and responses are not used to train or improve Google’s models. We configure the relay for no server-side storage of request or response content and do not log payload bodies.
Data sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers in the app. When cloud insights are on and you request a rewrite, anonymous aggregates are processed by Google as described above. We only otherwise share information if required by law or to protect our rights.
Data retention
Your habit data stays on your device, and in your iCloud private database if sync is enabled, until you delete it in the app, remove the app, or manage it through Apple ID / iCloud settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide limited subscription status needed to unlock features.
Your choices
- Keep cloud insights off (default) for fully on-device use.
- Sign out of iCloud or disable iCloud for the app if you do not want CloudKit sync.
- Revoke notification permission in iOS Settings.
- Delete local data by removing habits in the app, or by deleting the app.
Children’s privacy
MyHabits is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Prebuilt entries such as Medicine are scheduling helpers, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. MyHabits is not a medical device.
Changes
We will update this page if the policy changes and revise the effective date above.
